I know this doesn’t really apply here (in this city anyways) but imagine for just a minute that we live in a city with a relevant mass transit system. Why take the bus instead of driving? Well that’s easy – Save your time, energy, and resources by letting someone else drive. That is the premise for my newest project. Why would you have someone like me design your website or your logo for you? In one word? Efficiency. You will save time, energy, and resources (your money) by choosing a professional to do the work for you. Our modern culture seems to be obsessed with the DIY mindset. If you need something done you can do it yourself; from home repairs & decorating, accounting, medicine, auto repair, and yes, even DIY graphic designers. I feel like I see too many websites or logos that were probably conceived, somehow, like this…

Why would I pay a designer to do that? I can do it myself! I mean I have a computer – I’m a smart guy –  how hard could it be?!  Let’s see… file… new document… insert “clipart”…Ooh, that’s perfect!…  typing in new business name…and done! wow, that was easy!  I just saved a ton of money on THAT!

Setting design standards aside – that usually works for a week or two until they send the logo to the sign company or to a publication to be used in an ad and realize that it is completely useless for anything outside of viewing on their own PC. Or worse – They set up a website (I use that term loosely in this context) using one of those “free hosting & website builder” services – which after they show it off to family and friends, no one ever sees it. Using a professional to do these things for you will generate more interest in your brand through quality design and marketing, and also generate traffic to your website by utilizing the newest SEO and web standards.

So, back to the topic, pixelb.us is like mass transit for the web. But instead of moving people in a more efficient way – we move pixels. Efficient, reliable, and affordable, high quality design, is available and accesible through pixelb.us.

Wait…. what?

oh yeah, let me explain, I have decided to move my portfolio away from this site since I really use this space for more experimenting with wordpress themes and CSS,  coding, html, etc… This was an idea that I presented to a client and was never used. I liked it so much that I decided to use it for my own personal portfolio site. Rather than a bunch of different ideas on a single site, Pixelb.us is going to a very focused site concentrating on my graphic design, web design, advertising, branding, and corporate identity work.
